Dear Alumni,
Friends, there has been a sea change in the development of GMCH in last 25 years. With humble beginnings in 1991 from the “Prayas building”, now we have a sprawling campus, consisting of 5 blocks, hostels and staff quarters. GMCH has blossomed into a full-fledged 800 bedded hospital, well equipped with super specialties and state of the art equipment. As a result, GMCH is ranked consistently among the top 20 medical colleges of the country for the past few years by various agencies. The latest addition is Block E which will house the college building, lecture theatre complex, college canteen and a state of the art library. This all has happened because of efforts of faculty, management and Chandigarh administration, which is dynamic, progressive and have a vision to place GMCH among the top institutions of the country. The progress has been in many spheres including patient care, equipment, facilities provided, techniques and education. Our alumni have done us proud by their achievements in India as well as abroad.
Throughout the world alumni play a great role in the development of any institution. A stage comes in one's life when you want to give back to your institution in one way or other. There are many areas where you can help in building the institution. It could be for the library, teaching aids, maintenance of the GMCH alumni association website, infrastructure in hostels, secretarial assistance to man the alumni association office, blood donation camps, social awareness programs and so on. GMCH alumni association is a forum to promote interaction amongst members, serve as a link to the alma mater and create opportunities for academic, social and welfare activities for its members. This body is a non-profit organization, registered under the societies act and has to generate its own resources
We assure you that the money donated by you would be put to good use, for the betterment of the student, community and college infrastructure. The statement of accounts is audited annually by a certified chartered accountant.
In the future, we plan to arrange guest lectures in GMCH by the visiting alumni. We would request you to inform us of your programme of visiting India so that we can arrange a talk in one of the fora under the auspices of GMCH alumni association. Any contribution when made singly or collectively by the alumni will go a long way in improving your alma mater and we’re sure will buttress your ties and association with our GMCH.
